Piezoceramic Patch Transducers: More Flexible for Energy Harvesting, Stuctural Health Monitoring, Adaptronics

The patented DuraAct™ patch transducers are now even more flexible: consisting of a 0.2 mm thick piezo-ceramic film only, the P-876.SP1’s extremely compact size and robustness makes it suitable for use in very small spaces. The piezo composites become even more flexible when active films with a thickness of 80, 60 or even a mere 55 micrometers are used. Equipped with electrodes and laminated into polymer composite, these versions permit extreme bending radii of less than 10 mm. The piezo-composite element can thus also be used under the most difficult conditions. PI Ceramic has now successfully mastered the technological challenge of manufacturing and processing these extremely thin piezo ceramics.
